XenForo 2's sharing options are tied to the XenForo 2.x widget-definition "Share this page" (class: \XF\Widget\SharePage), which is very good at generating the share-block automatically from the current URL, page title, and page description (if any). Since VaultWiki 4.1 will include support for the native XenForo 2.x widget system, there's really not any additional work that needs to be done to support the "Share this page" block. The admin just needs to add the XenForo widget to a widget-position that is available on wiki pages.

VaultWiki's own "Share this page" block from earlier versions has also been updated to work with XenForo 2's widget system. It might be preferred to use the wiki's block on wiki pages since it includes other options such as generating a link to use on other wiki pages.

Marking this as a duplicate of general XenForo 2 support.

      Xenforo has multiple sharing functions:
      1. sidebar widget
      2. at the bottom of the page. (see any thread)
      3. since XF2.1 in every post: https://xenforo.com/community/thread...2/post-1291227

The SHARE THIS PAGE widget is too large for mobile.
It's not needed to display the full name. The icon of the sharing service suffices. Core XF does not display the names.
The sharing code does not need to be displayed. IMHO the copy icons suffice.
Here is an example of how this looks in XF core:
      https://xenforo.com/community/resources/vaultwiki.8615/

The VW widget is 5X as large as the XF implementation.
Please reduce the size of this VW widget.

Are there any settings somewhere I can adjust to reduce it somewhat or hide the names?

The VW widget uses the XF core share_page_macros. Since you don't want to display the names, make sure your widget config has "Display icons only", the same as the XF core widget.

As far as the sharing code not needing to be displayed on mobile, this doesn't seem to be affected by "Display icons only". We use the core macro "share_page_macros::share_clipboard_input". I'm not sure if there is a clean way to hide the input contents and keep the button using CSS. There doesn't seem to be a core way to do it.

Thanks! I'm encountering a weird issue: I set it to Display icons only and this had the desired effect. But if I look in the widget settings then the setting is off again.

The checkbox not showing the saved state after reloading the config page is a known issue. It is fixed in the next release.

IMHO this feature has deprecated the Share URL fields. There's already a Link icon and the users have everything they need.
Weirdly enough the Vaultwiki share this page widget displays the Share URl fields on top, while in XF core its at the bottom and in XF2.3 XFRM they are hidden.
