This occurs when the remote version-compare function is unable to parse the value of your installed version as reported by your site, and thus cannot locate whether there is a newer build on that branch. Depending on some other factors, the server might reply with the latest version without build numbers, or will simply send a 'Check failed' response. Neither of these responses were expected by the local installation and resulted in an undefined offset message.

This is fixed in the next release.

It seems to me that this is the only bug which keeps me from importing to my live site now. For all other issues I have fixes.

There is absolutely no reason that this should be interfering with the import. It appears on the wiki admin index page, not on the import.

Yes, I know. What I am afraid of is that after import and putting the wiki life, I may get regular errors from this, leading to problems?

The error is an E_NOTICE. Those kinds of errors are generally not serious at all, except some cases when the evaluation to NULL causes the script to enter an unexpected code block through a conditional that expects a populated offset.

The remote version check, which queries our server to find out if a new version is available to download and displays that information on the same page, only occurs on the wiki admin index page. This error is a result of that version check failing for some reason. It will not cause problems in any part of the wiki, because it is not used or referred to anywhere else. While it is possible that you might see this error regularly, it would only be when visiting that admin page.

If I get that error on wiki index, then could it prevent me from accessing settings after I migrate wiki?

An E_NOTICE is a silent error; it only appears in your logs. If you see an exception directly, outside the logs, then you are using debug mode live. Do not do that, as it can cause problems. If the E_NOTICE occurred inside a DM (this one doesn't), an error message that is normally harmless might cause data corruption. Only use debug mode on a test/development installation, or enable/disable it only as needed.
