Issue: File Browser Mobile issues

I have only been able to make the File Browser completely break on some phones when switching between portrait and landscape view. When starting in landscape view, sometimes the File Browser only shows the description and the submit button (no images).

In most other phones, the overlay never takes up the full width, even though it is supposed to when the width is narrow. I have not been able to make the File Browser extend off the screen horizontally without switching to landscape, and only then it only extends off the right side of the screen.

Regarding the scrolling problem, I'm not sure yet what we can do about that since it's controlled by the browser, but I can understand why it might be undesirable to accidentally scroll the parent window while an overlay is still open.

If the plus-icons are difficult to use to choose images on mobile, I can imagine how hard other things might be: like the Book tab, or trying to remove a chapter in the editor.

I will try to look at all of this next time we're working on style issues. This week the focus is on race conditions and certain situations that cause data loss.

If you know specific phones that are having issues with File Browser, please let me know.

Its also reported on a MacBook Pro using Safari on MacOS Sierra v10.12

Until its fixed we have turned the file browser off site wide.

The possibility of wiki-related overlays not being bounded by the client window, which is especially likely with small client widths lower than XenForo's minimum responsive width of 610px, is now mitigated in the next release. An overlay should never be wider than the client window.

VaultWiki already bounded the height by the client window; however, this failed to create a desirable effect when toggling from landscape into portrait mode, or when resizing an initially short window to a much larger height. In such cases, the squashed overlay was still used even though additional height had become available. As of the next release, the overlay dimensions will be adjusted accordingly on all resize actions to prevent squashing from continuing after new space has become available.

I have not had opportunity to change the way images in File Browser are selected. In my opinion, that is minor compared to the client bounding issue, and it would ideally be addressed along with similar selection issues, such as the category chooser and other choosers that use small + icons. It will not be addressed in this release.

It was reported that the small + symbols are not visible to everyone. I think this is the case on safari on mac.

The icons are Font-Awesome characters. Are the affected users able to see other font icons throughout the wiki? If not, there may be an issue with the server's CORS policy.

Marking this as fully resolved in 4.1.x. In 4.1.x, the chooser rows / thumbnails are fully clickable, rather than just the +/- sign.
