Can Most Viewed Pages be edited to not include files?
On my Most Viewed Pages (Special Page) it lists many of the images that are included within other pages. I suggest removing files from this counter to increase it's usefulness.
At least we know the view counters on images are working when it's included in another page.
So I think it there are two options that would make sense:
Add a tickbox at the top to show files, but not show them by default, OR
Separate it into two special pages. One for Files, with filters for views vs. downloads, maybe called MostAccessedFiles or something like that, and keep this for non-files only.
The first option seems like the simpler solution, but second option gives us the downloads filter. Maybe we can just add downloads as a sort to FileList. We would have to weigh all the possibilities.
Implemented in the next release. Filtered attachments out of the existing Special:PopularPages, and added a new special page Special:PopularFiles. Special:PopularFiles defaults to sorting by download count.
