No, i am sorry. i meant comments, if you don´t want that people comment, you could set the permission to "no". but it is not possible to disable it. discussion are already disabled
In the settings for your wiki area, you will also see Content-Related Options > Discussion Topics Allowed in this Area. Make sure that both "Any Topic" and "Main Discussion" are NOT checked.
after i open the same area again (admincp) - i got this picture http://abload.de/image.php?img=unbenannt247slt.png
(Take notice that "Any Topic" is no longer visible)
For my interest i saved again what will happen now
-> comments for area and content pages are enabled again
Now i unchecked this option too (which was not enabled by myself)
-> comments for area and content pages are disabled
For easier comment disabling you should consider to add "Comments" to your Content Manager (like feed/discussion/poll and so on)
Cause you need to edit everything just to disable it - comfort
"Any Topic" is checked because it was the last selection. It is not really valid when the "Discussion" content-type is disabled, so if you turn it off, it will disappear after that.
Yes, I noticed a bug too (you must uncheck the Main Discussion box every time you edit). There was a bug in the area manager where you have to uncheck some options every time you save. For 4.0.11, changelog now says:
Code:
Fixed Bug: valid blank values for some area settings are filled by default on next area edit
I have been working on this too, and it works in all of my areas except my main area. The changes don't save there. How do I fix that? And there is on the option to select Main Discussion, no spot for the Any Topic like there is in all of my other areas.
"Any Topic" is removed if it was not already selected and if the "Discussion" content-type was disabled in Structures > Content Types, since "Any Topic" does not make sense as a choice when the only valid choice is "Main Discussion." What change are you trying to make that will not save? It is my understanding that a bug prevents the checkbox from working for specific discussion titles, but it would not apply while the "Discussion" content-type is disabled, because the only thing you would be allowed to do in that case is un-check the boxes.
