      Can't Install VaultWiki 4.0.0 Gamma 3 Build 2 - Database Error in Install Script
      I'm having a problem installing Vault Wiki with Vbulletin v4.2.2.

      Database error
      The Shattered Sosaria Forums database has encountered a problem.


      Please try the following: •Load the page again by clicking the Refresh button in your web browser.
      •Open the www.shatteredsosaria.net home page, then try to open another page.
      •Click the Back button to try another link.

      The www.shatteredsosaria.net forum technical staff have been notified of the error, though you may contact them if the problem persists.

      We apologise for any inconvenience.

      If you have any mods that use plugins at the following hook location, disable those mods while you are running VaultWiki's install script. The hook location to look for is "template_compile"

      Unfortunately the snippet of error message you originally posted was very long, but didn't actually include the part that caused the error. After the Invalid SQL block, there should be other information. Here's an example:

      While in general it is better to include the entire message including the Invalid SQL block, because it is so long please just submit this last part.

      I suspect your error is similar to THIS:

      MySQL Error   : MySQL server has gone away
      In which case, your server is not well-tuned for running a modified forum. Please follow the instructions in this thread: https://www.vaultwiki.org/issues/3286/

      Sorry, the error message was blank past what I posted (weird I know). But the issue was my MySQL max_allowed_packet setting as you thought. (My my.ini didn't even have the entry so it was probably at default setting, whatever that is). Adding it with a higher setting fixed the issue. Thanks for your fast response!

      Marking this as Confirmed. While we can't actually fix the max_allowed_packet issue, there is a step in the installer that checks for the minimum system requirements. We can check for the packet value and have the installer output a message that it needs to be increased for the install to be successful.

      Fixed in the next release. The installer will not proceed if max_allowed_packet is below 32M.
