Your config file did not have the "remote db" option turned on. However when I turn it on, it now complains that the access credentials are wrong for the other database (or perhaps it is firewalled).

The database is not on localhost, but on the DB server.

I corrected that, which lead to the next error.

      Identified some issues like:
      - Importing non-default namespace BB-Code names results in DB error
      - Running the VW3 importer against a non-empty wiki results in DB error

I'm running the importer to the end now to make sure it doesn't hang.

Let me know when it is done. It tends to take a while.

The import claims it has completed. Please review the imported content and let me know what, if anything, needs updating.

Something is very wrong. Going to the 'wiki articles' category, I end up with forum headers. Yet, forum headers were in a completely different category.
Additionally, it leads to an error.
      There should be various subcategories.
Also: the wiki sub-category 'Häufig-gestellte-Fragen' is visible on the wiki index, but non of the other subcategories are. The aforementioned subcategory also leads to an error.

The 'Wiki Articles' area has a forum header, it is not actually stored there. The 'Wiki Articles' area, actually returns no permission. You may want to review permissions. It looks like you gave Administrators custom permissions for the 'Wiki Articles' area back in the day: /admin.php?wiki/&panel=permission&groupid=3&do=customize

However, it is a bug that the header displays if the user doesn't have permission to view the current page content. You would expect the header to be considered part of the page the user can't view.

You have 2 nodes named 'Wiki Articles'. This might be an error, but this is very confusing for VaultWiki. You should rename one of them and see if they are duplicates or not: /admin.php?wiki/&panel=conflict&prefixid=0&key=wiki-articles&do=edit

'Häufig-gestellte-Fragen' was not working because of the 'ä' in its name. It seems that the route DM has been encoding its incoming titles when the title is already encoded by the caller. This is fixed for you and in the next release, but will not fix any existing articles with issues. We may have to add a tool to rebuild URLs if people encounter issues, or we may have to automatically rebuild them during the upgrade. I haven't decided yet.

Anyone who goes from vw3 to vw4 will have forum nodes with the same name as the wiki nodes. My vw3 install does not have nodes with duplicate names.

Regarding custom permissions: I guess these are imported from VW3. How do I remove all custom permissions for all usergroups?

Custom permissions are found by clicking the Key icon next to an area, or next to a usergroup.

You can remove all custom permissions at once with a query:
      Code:
      DELETE FROM vw_permission WHERE nodeid > 0 AND applytypeid = 1
