Thanks Ted.
Also - FYI - I noticed the problem emerges when content structures are copied from one wiki page into a new one.
I established a header-separated 'blueprint' for my wiki articles which, first, I copied to multiple pages, then, second, modified to make them topic relevant. The original 'copy' included a number of links and references to templates <<Warning Box>> which I then modified as well page-by-page.
What I noticed was that I couldn't just copy materials from an existing guide [Ms Word Document] into the structure I established. That is, all good if you don't introduce footnotes but as soon as that happens the wiki spits it out.
Just FYI, as said. No real issue for me [I had to rewrite the MsWord Guide anyway] but perhaps good for you to know, just in case something similar pops up due course.
Hey - Thanks for your assistance again. I am a very, very happy customer.....
