      I seem to be lost

      I have installed the latest VaultWiki on Xenforo V2.2.13. I installed it by the discover addon interface and it seemed to install just fine.

      I don't know what to do next. The install instructions point me to Home->VaultWiki but I do not see this link anywhere. I can access the options for VaultWiki but it is not showing on my Xenforo site.

      Pointers please??

      If you mean that in the AdminCP, you do not have a big "Wiki" link down the left side, between "Content", "Forums", "Users", "Appearance", etc:

      If you don't see this, then it is possible you performed the installation while not being a Super Administrator. Your forum's super administrator will need to grant you permission to manage VaultWiki.

      Groups & permissions > Staff > Administrators > [your name]. While editing your name, there will be a section called Permissions. There is a setting here called "Manage VaultWiki" which you will need to have checked.

      If you mean that in the public forums, you do not have a "Wiki" tab in your forum navigation:

      Then you may not have permissions to view the wiki yet (you should already have this as admin).
      Check AdminCP > Wiki > Permissions > Usergroup permissions.

      The navigation tab might be disabled for some reason:
      Check AdminCP > Setup > Navigation > Public navigation, looking for "Wiki" related entries.

      You might also have custom navigation through specific style changes, or you might have a third-party add-on managing your navigation. In either of these cases, you would have to adjust your style changes / add-on settings accordingly which is beyond the scope of our support here.

      Thanks. I do indeed have the big blue Wiki link and it does open the options.

      I think I may know what is going on in the front end after looking at the Public Navigation. I have 2 Wiki entries in here. One for VaultWiki and one for Xencarta and they both have the same title. The Wiki link in the front end opens the Zencarta wiki which is the one we plan to port over to VaultWiki. I checked the Navigation table in the database but it is not obvious to me where the Title is stored and I cannot edit it in the navigation. I tried to disable the Xencarta Navigation and the Wiki link disappears.

      Another piece of the puzzle may have to do with the site config. If I change any options and attempt to save them I get a notice under the Wiki Active checkbox that states: The wiki currently appears as disabled because a deferred task is pending. It should re-open when the task is completed.

      Is it possible this deferred task has something to do with setting the public navigation link? I have no idea where to view the queue of deferred tasks.

      Does this give you any further clue as to where I need to go to enable VW in the front end?

      The phrase "nav.vw" controls the text of the public navigation link.

      If you are seeing the message "The wiki currently appears as disabled because a deferred task is pending." then that would cause the navigation link to go away. However, as admin, I believe you would still be able to access the wiki URL (default XF route: wiki/) and it would give you a message that the wiki is currently disabled. It happens when certain settings are changed, while the wiki is propagating the change throughout the content. Once the task completes, and the message goes away, then the wiki navigation should come back. If this status does not change after a minute or two on a brand new wiki, then you should check AdminCP > Logs > Errors > Server error logs, because it is possible a task has failed. We will need any information about logged server errors that you may have in order to investigate the issue.

      If the message has gone away and you can view the wiki via URL directly, but there is still no navigation, it is possible the navigation was cached in the old state. You can run the following MySQL query:
      Code:
      TRUNCATE TABLE xf_vw_cache

      From the server logs i am getting numerous deprecated warnings through in VW, basically the dynamic property warning. Warnings are not failures so am not overly concerned about these. I am getting this error though:

      Also, using the default XF route/wiki takes me to the Xencarta pages. I tried changing the wiki route in the VW options to wiki-rout ebut then I get requested page is not found.

      Where do I find the phrase "nav.vw"?

      Would you be able to submit a ticket? You don't seem to be getting any error messages that would cause this problem. The "requested page not found" is unusual and I'm wondering if there is a conflict going on with XenCarta or another add-on. It sounds like there might be VaultWiki code that is not being allowed to run, in places where it should normally be running.

      You can edit phrases in AdminCP > Appearance > Languages & phrases > Phrases.

      Ticket submitted. Note: The URL i provided is for a test system (clone of production), however, there are some links in the forum that will redirect you to the production site so you will need to revert to the test site URL. Keep an eye on the browser URL as VW is not installed on the production site yet and you will not have a user ID on it either.

      Okay, one problem appears to be VaultWiki not knowing what to do with your HTTP_X_FORWARDED_PROTO header.

      In your live installation, in src/addons/vw/vw/_hard/core.php, find:
      Code:
      (!empty($_SERVER['HTTPS']) AND ($_SERVER['HTTPS'] != 'off'))
      AFTER it, add:
      Code:
       OR self::get_url_info('HTTP_X_FORWARDED_PROTO') === 'https'
      This led VaultWiki thinking you were accessing the wiki from http instead of https. This also revealed that the "Force request protocol" setting of "Do Not Enforce" was actually trying to enforce the protocol.

      After making this change, your test site routes to the wiki normally. Please note: I had not received the "requested page not found" message in a few days; instead I was receiving a redirect loop, which was possibly unique to the test site being at a different URL. I'm not sure if something else had been rebuilt in that time, or what file permissions changes you made that may have helped the problem too. If it's still not working for you, try changing the wiki-route again in the settings, since that's the only thing I recall trying on my end.

      The fix for the XenCarta E_WARNING is in src/addons/vw/vw/_core/instance/parser/renderer/xf2.php, find:
      Code:
      else if ($options['entity']->isValidRelation('Thread'))
      Replace with:
      Code:
      else if ($options['entity']->isValidRelation('Thread') AND $options['entity']->Thread)

      Excellent! Looks good now. I am going to go through a refresh and reinstall, insert these changes, and see if all looks well. if so I will implement on my production system.

      I assume these changes will make their way into your codebase at some time?

      Thanks, and again, sorry for the hassle in getting the ftp to work.

      Do I need to be concerned during the install regarding this warning?
      To prevent potential issues, please resolve the following warnings before continuing:
      This add-on contains the following files which have unexpected contents: src/addons/vw/vw/_core/instance/parser/renderer/xf2.php, src/addons/vw/vw/_hard/core.php.

      VW seems to have installed OK. However, the links from the VW menu in the XenForo navigation are all hard coded to the production site rather than to my localhost that I am using for testing. Is this to be expected? Is it to enforce licensing? If so is there some option for testing purposes?

      I often clone my production site to my test system while I am testing various enhancements and/or troubleshooting. It is always safer this way and if I cannot do this it will make my workload a lot harder.

      Please advise, thanks.

      And I am still getting the deferred pending task warning when trying to save the Site Config options. The options save OK though.

      You receive the unexpected file contents warning, because you have manually patched the files, so they no longer match the originals. Since you know why the files were modified, then it is safe.

      If you are cloning a site for testing, you may need to change Options > VaultWiki: Site Config > Wiki Base URL. This is set automatically at installation based on your other forum settings for convenience.

      When changing certain VaultWiki settings, it is normal for a deferred task to run, because some settings have changes that must be propagated to the entire wiki. This is normally very quick, and goes away after just refreshing the admin page once. On massive wikis it may take a minute or two.
