Strange category behaviour

I have an area that is just for categories:

https://chroniclesrp.net/Folklore/Featured-Groups

Most users cannot create categories.

However, if they are not given permission to create categories in this area then they cannot see anything under "Pages in Featured Groups"

I can't see why not having creation rights should prevent people seeing the pages in an area.

Is this by design?

Fixed in the next release. This was a style problem in the vw_area_list template under XenForo 2.x. For some reason a conditional is missing from this template only on that platform. The result is that, if there are too few items in the content list to trigger page navigation and the user also does not have creation permissions, the content list is not included in the output HTML.

In the style template vw_area_list, find:

BEFORE it, add:

</xf:if> <xf:if is="{$can.full} OR {$can.preview}">

You should revert this change after upgrading to VW 4.1.4.
