XF2.x: Streamline wiki search results in sitewide XF search

Within XenForo 2.x, the layout of VaultWiki's search results (specifically the contentRow-minor section) feels cluttered, particuarly when compared XenForo's own content types (threads, posts/replies). With an optional edit reason, this can span across 3 rows. Observe the following attachment:

There has to be a better way for representing a page's creator and contributors which doesn't require multiple lines. In the included attachment, I've put together a more streamlined concept which would have contributor names moved into a tooltip on an "X contributor(s)" phrase. The format of this line would be:
      • Creator username (and # contributors - if applicable)
      • Content type (e.g. Wiki Page)
      • Revision timestamp
      • Revisions: Number of revisions*
      • Area: Area name

*Perhaps the revision count statistic isn't necessary in search results. I included it in the attached mock up anyway, as it is similar to XenForo's "Replies: #" for threads and it provides a bit of reasoning behind the changing timestamp from a edits being applied to a particular wiki page.

I don't think a revision's edit reason is necessary for search results and it just adds clutter. Edit reasons are very useful when viewing page history and comparing revisions, but not here. Having said that, I'm interesting to hear what other people think.

Does anyone have any different opinions about layout and presentation of VW search results on XenForo 2.x?

Last edit info and edit reason were already added per a different feature request, so neither will be removed. I'm not sure yet if there is a way to satisfy both the original request and this one, since the changes you suggest reduce the amount of information shown. You may have to edit the template to your own liking.

Hmm, that is unfortunate. Part of the reason for putting together the new search result concept is some results don't even need the second line as they lack a timestamp (perhaps this part is a bug).

      Example of what happens now:
      Big category test
      (clock)Never
Created by ACL | Wiki XF Category | Pages: 0 | Area: System
When it would fit XF2's style if it were presented like so:
      Big category test
      ACL | Wiki XF Category | Feb 23, 2019 | Pages: 0 | Area: System

Adapting my original concept with the addition of the edit reason at the end or on one extra line would still be some improvement. So either:
      TOC Nesting
pegasus and 1 contributor | Wiki XF Page | Thursday at 1:56 AM | Area: Demo | Last edit: ACL (Added one word (testing edit of someone's...)
      Or:
      TOC Nesting
Last edit: ACL | Edit reason: Added one word (testing edit of someone else's page)
pegasus and 1 contributor | Wiki XF Page | Thursday at 1:56 AM | Area: Demo
Of these two ideas, I personally prefer the first one ... although it might warrant abbreviating long edit reasons with an ellipsis.

Anyway, is the feature request that you refer to from 4.0.0 RC 1? I haven't found anything similar in the changelogs.

      4.0.0 RC 1

This has been tweaked in XenForo 2.x for the next release.
Also fixed a bug where the changes for the current edit were not shown in search results even though they were templated.

      The following format was adopted:
pegasus and 1 contributor \/ | Wiki XF Page | Thursday at 1:56 AM | Area: Demo | Last edit: ACL \/

The contributor link opens a drop-down menu with links to recent contributor profiles.
The last-edit link opens a drop-down menu with the reason and the change details (added x characters, etc).

The thinking that led to edit reason and other edit details making it into the search results was due to What's New, where it is more likely you want to know what is actually new about the page since you last read it.
