XF2.1: Use different FA5 icon for page edit protection and vw_talk_lock

In VaultWiki Alpha 1, an identical padlock icon is used to represent two different meanings:
      • Page protection actions
      • Commenting disabled

      This could cause confusion.

I suggest implementing one of FA5's alternate padlock icons for one of the two meanings. Since lock-alt is a pro-only icon, perhaps use the closet free one, unlock-alt:
      https://fontawesome.com/icons/unlock-alt?style=solid

Unlock-alt could be used for page protection (e.g. the form submit button) and the existing lock icon kept for indicating that discussion is disabled.

For comparison, the existing lock icon is:
      https://fontawesome.com/icons/lock?style=solid

Alpha 2 has changed the icon for page protection to a shield: https://fontawesome.com/icons/shield-alt?style=solid

      That could work! Thanks

The only potential issue I see is XenForo uses a similar shield icon to represent moderated content for. Does VaultWiki use/intend to use a shield for unapproved wiki content? I'm not able to test this right now due to an unrelated issue (a report is coming right up).

EDIT: VaultWiki 4.1 Alpha 1 does use the shield for indicating moderated content.

Yeah that explains why we didn't use the shield in Alpha 1. So now we are starting to run out of viable replacements among the Free icons. We prefer an icon that exists in both FA 4.7 and FA 5, or at least similar icons. It has to be unused for a different purpose, and it has to sort of imply what it represents.

      UPDATE:

So for now, the protected state is going to be represented as follows:

      FA4: https://fontawesome.com/v4.7.0/icon/archive
      FA5: https://fontawesome.com/icons/dungeon?style=solid

      ORIGINAL POST:

For example, in XF 2.1 we could use:
      https://fontawesome.com/icons/user-shield?style=solid
And other versions could have something like this:
      https://fontawesome.com/icons/user-times?style=solid

Or go in a different direction like:
      https://fontawesome.com/v4.7.0/icon/archive

Otherwise we get reduced to something like:
      https://fontawesome.com/icons/times-circle?style=solid

Or we'll have to make our own icon as an image like it was in XF 1.x.

      unlock-alt does have a 4.7 icon:
      https://fontawesome.com/icons/unlock-alt?style=solid https://fontawesome.com/v4.7.0/icon/unlock-alt

Or archive (as you suggested in the post after this one)? https://fontawesome.com/icons/archive?style=solid https://fontawesome.com/v4.7.0/icon/archive

A different idea might be to leave the page protection icon as-is and instead change the no commenting icon in XF2.1 to comment-slash? Although I do see your point from earlier of keeping this the same as XenForo default for locked threads so this might not be the best idea.
      https://fontawesome.com/icons/comment-slash?style=solid (no FA 4.7 version)

I'll keep looking and post again if I see a better candidate icon for page protection from FA5 (plus FA4.7 substitute if any)
