Wiki Moderator Permissions not inherited by Area

Wiki Moderators (Default) group has a number of staff permissions assigned.

These permissions are not being applied.

When I look at an Area permissions page and go to edit these for Wiki Moderators (Default) they are all shown as "No"

As a workaround I have created a new group and moved the permissions over. This works fine.

Unless I have misunderstood something in the design?

A user must be listed on the Wiki Moderators admin page in order to get any wiki-related permissions from that usergroup. The user must be assigned as a moderator to all wiki areas or at least to the part of the wiki area tree where you want the permissions inherited.

From the options page:

This group is used as a permissions mask for Wiki moderators.

Warning! Users are automatically added to this group by the wiki. The permissions of this group will only apply in wiki areas that the user has been allowed to moderate. Do NOT select a usergroup that is already used as a primary usergroup -- you risk permissions escalation or locked accounts whenever users are added/dropped from the group automatically.

Please verify that the users meet this criteria. From what I can tell doing a user search on your site for members of the group, and comparing it to the Wiki Moderators admin page, there is a discrepancy.
