      Integration Icons
Integrations in the forum list should have icons and activity status

When incorporating integrations as the content of a forum category I need to have the icons I have available for forums with the same general meaning. I.e. one icon for no new content and another for new content.

Without that the layout looks out of place.

If the integrated area has a custom icon set on its Edit tab, that will be used on the forum list. If it has a custom icon and you wish to use a different custom icon for the integration only, this can be achieved with custom CSS rules.

If you want to use a different default icon for your integrations, you should create a clone of /vault/resources/images at a custom directory like /vault/resources/custom-images and change the Wiki Image Directory Style Property to your custom directory. Then you can change any of the stock images as you wish (such as icon/forum/vw-area-icon-36-new.png and 36-old).

Alternatively, if you want all integrations to have the same icons, you can modify the vw_area_forumbit template (or vw_area_subforumbit for sub-forums) so that it uses your desired icons. This might be necessary to get a consistent look if you are not using XenForo's default style.

Note that in XenForo's default style, no icons are used for sub-forum listings, so wiki areas shown in the sub-forum listings have no icons either.

Because your forum-icons differ based on style, it would not be practical to implement and use a separate integration-icon setting if you want consistency with your style. Instead, one of the above style-related methods should be used.

Since I do not understand the process, I am likely just confused. When I created the integration in the wiki admin tools, it showed up with no icon at all. The only way I could get an icon to display was to make the node object a link forum.

Link forums do not display new/old content, so even though there was something appropriate visible, there was no activity cue.

I do not think I am creating subforums but I am creating forums in subcategories and perhaps that is treated the same way.

In any case, my ThemeHouse Material Design style does not show any icons at all in the forum home view for an active integration. It has custom icons available.

Is there an example somewhere of an integration appearing in a forum list that looks like its sibling forums?

      On our demo: https://www.vaultwiki.org/xf/index.php

VaultWiki Sales > Demo uses the custom icon that was selected on the Demo page's Edit tab. The icon border changes on new/old.
Notice how Demo has a Sub-Forums drop-down. The sub-forums do not have icons. You might show sub-forums inline on your style, rather than as a drop-down. If you want these to have icons, you would need to modify the vw_area_subforumbit template.

VaultWiki How-Tos > Tutorials uses the default icon for integrations. It uses the same icon colors as standard forums in the default style, and like standard forums, the opacity changes on new/old. If you want a different default icon because of taste or because of a custom style, you can use any of the methods suggested in my previous post.
