Page editing option: "Automatically parse supported media sites"

At present, including links to supported media sites in wiki pages will only embed content correctly if the [media=site]ID[/media] Xenforo bbcode is typed in manually. Pasting a link without the bbcode doesn't embed anything. Unless this is a configuration issue at my end..?

I'd like to see a page editing option similar to the parse URLs automatically option called "Automatically parse supported media site URLs" which would run the appropriate Xenforo code to convert any media site links into embedded content, including adding a URL underneath the content if that is how a particular instance of Xenforo has been configured.

Some pages might be better displayed with a link only, hence my suggestion to integrate this Xenforo functionality with a per-page checkbox condition.

Actually it might be a config issue with my site after all, as media site content does auto-embed on one other page I tested in another wiki area. Sorry.

EDIT: The issue was auto-parsing URLs for a particular page was unchecked, which also cascaded into media site content not being run through Xenforo's media bbcode automatically. I think I need a smack on the cheek for overlooking this one!

Please note that the auto-parse checkbox was removed for new pages and existing pages that already had it checked as of 4.0.17, for XenForo in order to increase consistency with other XenForo post content; except for existing unchecked boxes, the option is now treated as always on. To prevent auto-parsing in 4.0.17 and later, the PLAIN tag should be used.

Oh right, I see. Now that you mention it, the "other page" I mentioned was created in 4.0.17. Anyway, the new approach does make for a more unified forum/wiki experience. Thanks for the info

The XF media button doesn't work in 4.0.17. Please see bug report 301331 on my live site.

Multi-Media is not allowed in pages in the area related to that bug report (confirmed in your area settings), so technically MEDIA tags are parsing as expected; however:

      - There might be an importer issue here, because the media toggle for forums was not added until a very late vBulletin version; when importing from earlier versions, it should map the image toggle to the VW4 media toggle in order to maintain the prior behavior. This might have been overlooked.
      - If multi-media is not allowed in the area, then the MEDIA button should be removed from the toolbar; currently, the MEDIA button still appears even though multi-media is not permitted.

Fixed the MEDIA/VIDEO forum bit not importing in most importers - importers weren't notified of the bit when it was added in 4.0.9.
Fixed the MEDIA/VIDEO editor button still showing even though MEDIA/VIDEO is not permitted in the area.
