Ghost page counts in (imported) areas after moving contents to other areas?

I'm now at the point that VaultWiki's public release is imminent, with the final import done and the next step turning the Wiki on in the admin settings.

To provide context, the MediaWiki -> VaultWiki importer places the content into Main, File and Template areas initially which is fine. However, after the import I have moved these hundreds of pages/files/templates to other areas - a tedious task with the volume of content brought across but one that only needs to be done once so I can't complain . Anyway this isn't the issue.

The issue is VaultWiki is reporting that the Main, File and Template areas still contain wiki pages even though I have moved them all elsewhere. For instance, the area "File (imported)" is reported as having 419/424 pages/content nodes. I thought perhaps that the counters just needed to be rebuilt. This however did not fix the mystery pages number. I checked the table "vw_page" for any rows with an areaid of 37, where 37 is the id of area "File (imported)", and the only result is the area itself.

My plan was at this stage to delete the three areas created during import as they are no longer needed, assuming that they really are empty of course! Out of fear of losing valuable content I haven't deleted the imported areas.

I'll attach a picture which may help with the explanation.

      Thanks

The delete dialog uses the same out-of-date counter that you are seeing elsewhere. If the vw_page table shows no records in areaid = 37, then there are no pages there. However, you might also want to check the vw_redirect table.

Interesting, vw_redirect does return a few matches for areaid 37 however just 5 rows (before I removed them) and not 419/424 of them.

Fixed in the next release. When moving pages from one area to another, the count on the original area was not changed, and the count on the target area was increased twice for each moved page.

Thank you! Would l I need to manually rebuild the counters once the next version is released and installed or would the upgrade process handle that?

The upgrade process should handle it. There is no tool yet to rebuild area counters manually.
