Search error after upgrade Sphinx Plugin of Digital Points (For 4.x series)
"unknown local index 'vwpage' in search request" Error

I searched through support and found that this problem occurred in 3.x series listed here: https://www.vaultwiki.org/issues/2295/

However I found that the fix on 3.x is no longer applicable to the 4.x series.

I installed Sphinx Plugin from Digital Points and the searching on vBulletin 4.2.2 gives the error:
"unknown local index 'vwpage' in search request"

Support would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not sure why DigitalPoint's Sphinx Plugin was designed this way. It is unrealistic to assume that all third-party mods will be able to include a dedicated Sphinx module (which is what DigitalPoint's mod currently requires). Instead, it should have been able to fall back to the regular search method if a Sphinx module was not available. But perhaps the way vBulletin's system was designed didn't make this too easy (possible issues with the Common-type search).

Unfortunately in order to fix this issue, I would need access to a Sphinx installation that uses Digital Point's mod. Sphinx is installed at a higher level than your forum installation, so this is not possible for many admins to give. If you can provide this, please fill out a Ticket Support service in the Members area, and give any additional instructions about how to access Sphinx on your server.

Do you only need the ftp access to it, not the ssh?

That is a good question. I don't remember much about how the plugin works to know if I would need SSH to get it to pick up the 'vwpage' index. For now FTP access should be fine.

"Fixed" in the next release. In the do_not_upload folder, there will be a sphinx directory. The contents of this folder should be uploaded to the same directory containing sphinx.conf. On future indexer rotations, Sphinx should grab the new indexes in VaultWiki.
