It's finally time. After literally years of anticipation, we are pleased to announce that VaultWiki 4 is finally available for download!
We're making this Alpha version of VaultWiki 4 available now for sites interested in exploring this early version of the software, to start work on styling, plug-ins, etc, and to provide feedback before a final version is released. While this Alpha version can be used on new sites, some functionality and content of existing sites won't yet be ported over. Thus, we recommend that users who want to upgrade sites to this Alpha version do so in a staging environment before deploying it to production.
Keep in mind, however, that this release of VaultWiki 4 will only work with vBulletin version 4.1.4 and higher. We will be adding support for other versions of vBulletin and some other forum platforms before month's end.
New Features and Improvements
As we've previously announced, VaultWiki 4 features significant improvements over version 3:
- A completely rewritten core product which provides a modular and more customizable environment
- More intuitive Wiki Areas and other structured components
- A wiki sidebar featuring Live Search, Activity Feed, Similar Content, and more
- The ability to Upload Files and add Categories via the editor
- Have more than 1 Discussion on each wiki page

- History for Files, so new uploads can be reverted if necessary
- A one-click install and upgrade process
- More URL customization options and easier server preparation for those options
- Full IPv6 support and UTF-8 support without needing to recompile PHP
- .. and more to be revealed in future updates
