      Question Translations and Templates

Was wondering how currently (and planned) VaultWiki handles translations of templates?

The reason I ask, is that one of the longest jobs in maintaining a wiki is maintaining the templates, and with the addition of translation, does the system automatically look for a translation of a template, or would it require it's own templates?

Translated pages will still work with untranslated templates. Obviously, if you don't want the page output to randomly change language at parts, you should translate the template used at some point.

If you have written your templates so that there's not really any hardcoded text, then there's no reason to translate them. The same goes for images. As mentioned in the announcement, the implementation of translations is different from what was first suggested in that every translation is available for linkage and transclusion all the time, regardless of the currently selected language.

That sounds like a perfect solution. I'm looking forward to being able to see these translations at work, and am just waiting on the translators at our site to finish working on the German files...
